Stormy Weather

Stormy Sky SuffolkVery often the best light does not mean the best weather. It was cold and very windy, and standing in such an exposed location with no shelter it was a bit of a struggle against the elements.

The clouds were moving fast from right to left and I needed to work fast. I’m pleased with the outcome and am quite keen to return with a larger canvas.

This Suffolk landscape is in oil on stretched linen canvas. 16×16 inches, 40.5 x 40.5 cm.

Work in Progress

Orchard at Assington Mill P1200617

This is a view of the orchard at Assington Mill in Suffolk. I started it in April 2014 and managed two sessions before the scene had changed too much and I put it away for a year.

This photo was taken towards the end of day 3 (year 2). I think one more short session will see it finished.

It is 30×36 inches, 76 x 91 cm, oil on stretched linen canvas.

Contact me for a price if you are interested.

Blackthorn Blossom

Spring is marching on, excuse the pun, and it’s almost time for the blackthorn to blossom. I painted this large canvas of a blackthorn bush on location above the Stour Valley over a couple days. It is 36 x 36 inches in oil on canvas and it’s currently available from Island Fine Arts.
